Large bowl no. 2

 144,95

A large bowl adorned with intricate cracked lines, forged by the flames of the firering. Each crack tells a story of transformation and beauty, creating a captivating display of artistry. This versatile bowl can be used for decoration, or for serving dry foods such as freshly baked bread, adding both style and functionality to your table setting.

First, the bowl is removed from the kiln at temperatures nearing 1,000 degrees, only to be swiftly cooled in open air. This rapid temperature change causes the glaze to crack, resulting in the distinctive crackle effect that adds character to each piece. Next, the bowl is carefully placed into a smoke chamber filled with wood chips, where flames dance around the object, engulfing it in heat. The smoke from the burning wood chips interacts with the unglazed clay, causing it to blacken and develop a unique, charred appearance. With its ability to cradle and accentuate anything placed within its embrace, the bowl is not just a decorative piece, but a statement of artistry and craftsmanship. Whether adorning your home or serving as a thoughtful gift, each vase tells a story of tradition, transformation, and beauty.
